While the mechanical protection of rotating drive systems is usually obtained with torque limiters, a series of axial force limiters named DSA, which are able to disconnect in case of overload in the tensile and compressive lateral directions, is available in the portfolio to protect linearly operating drives.
Due to the internal precision structure, the axial force limiter operates without axial play and can come up with exactly the same disengagement torque in both directions of action.
The unit equipped with a proximity switch reliably signals the overload situation and easily re-engages through the low residual torque into the operating position, as soon as the force transmission restarts.
Currently, 3 sizes covering an axial force range from 25 to 4,700 N are available.
The axial force limiters protect e.g. the torque supports of gears, motorised sledges, cam-controlled feed or eccentric drives.
